J&P Coatings is a family-owned and family-run business, and that's not just a tagline. It's the whole reason Dave Borkholder started the company in 2020. He set out to build something around the values his family lives by: honest work, showing up when you say you will, and treating a customer's home the way you'd treat your own.
The problem he kept seeing across Greater Cleveland was simple. Concrete floors in garages, basements, and shops crack, pit, and deteriorate over time, and most homeowners had no good way to stop it. Dave saw a chance to fix and prevent that damage while adding real, lasting value to people's homes.
That focus has fueled steady growth. What began as a single crew now runs two full installation teams working year-round across Northeast Ohio, with a third team on the way to keep up with demand. Through it all, the Borkholder family stays front and center, because the name on the truck is the name on the work.
