Our Garage Epoxy Coating Options

Solid Epoxy Systems

Classic and clean, these offer a strong, single-color finish with high shine and great chemical resistance. Great for homeowners looking for simplicity and durability.

Epoxy with Decorative Flakes

Add texture, depth, and a showroom look. These coatings hide dirt and give your garage floor a granite-like appearance.

Polyaspartic and Hybrid Systems

Want the strongest finish and fastest cure time? Our polyaspartic coatings offer next-level protection and UV resistance with minimal downtime. You can park your car back in the garage as soon as the next day.

Water-Based or Solvent-Based Epoxy

We’ll guide you through the pros and cons of each based on your budget and the condition of your concrete floor. Both offer excellent adhesion and resistance when applied correctly.

Polyurethane Topcoats

Boost your epoxy with a polyurethane topcoat for added scratch resistance, gloss, and protection against moisture and chemical spills.

Epoxy vs. Polyaspartic: Which is Better for Cleveland Garages?

For Cleveland garages that see road salt, freeze-thaw swings, and hot tires, J&P installs a polyaspartic-based Duralast® system rather than standard epoxy. Polyaspartic stays flexible through freeze-thaw cycles, resists salt and oil, won't yellow in UV light, and cures fast enough to drive on in about a day — where conventional epoxy is more prone to yellowing, hot-tire pickup, and slower cures in cold weather. The table below compares the two on the factors that matter most for a Northeast Ohio garage. For the full breakdown, see our epoxy vs. polyaspartic comparison guide.

Why Do Cleveland Garage Floors Fail Without a Coating?

Bare concrete garage floors in Northeast Ohio fail because of what Cleveland winters do to them. Road salt tracked in off the street soaks into porous concrete, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles expand that trapped moisture until the surface spalls, pits, and cracks. Oil, brake fluid, and de-icer stains set into the open pores, and hot tires pull at any thin or improperly bonded coating.

A properly installed, diamond-ground Duralast® polyaspartic system seals the slab so salt and moisture can't penetrate, and it flexes with the concrete instead of cracking. In one Middlefield, Ohio project, J&P sent two floor specialists who walked the homeowner through the process, prepped and coated the floor in a single day, and left him "more impressed with their customer service" than even the finished floor — his words: "If you're looking to have a cement floor coated don't hesitate on calling them."

What is J&P Coatings' Installation Process?

J&P installs every Duralast® garage floor in six steps, most completed in a single day:

  1. Diamond-grind the slab to strip salt and oil residue and open the concrete for a mechanical bond.
  2. Repair cracks and pits with Duralast® crack filler, then grind them smooth and flush.
  3. Apply the base coat — Duralast's self-priming, 100% solids pure polyurea — across the floor.
  4. Broadcast color chips into the wet base coat by hand to add color and slip texture.
  5. Scrape and vacuum the cured chip layer with steel blades so the surface is clean and even.
  6. Squeegee and roll on the UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat that seals and protects the floor.

Because the polyaspartic topcoat cures quickly, most one- and two-car garages are ready to walk on the same day and drive on shortly after. The completed system is backed by the Duralast® Polyaspartic Limited Transferable Warranty.
